NPC Chairman Seeks Finance Minister Support For Next Census And CRVS

Hon. Nasir lsa Kwarra, Chairman of the National Population Commission, paid a courtesy visit to Honourable Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, at the Ministry's Head Office in Abuja today, September 17, 2024.

The visit aimed to secure the Minister's support for the Commission's activities, particularly the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics, and the next Population and Housing Census. This census, Nigeria's first digital and green census, requires collaborative efforts to ensure success.

Hon. Kwarra was accompanied by key officials, including Federal Commissioners from Lagos, Adamawa, and Taraba States, the Director-General, Directors, and technical staff.

The Honourable Minister pledged his ministry's support for a successful census and continuous birth and death registration for the country to generate comprehensive and reliable data for effective planning and sustainable development.
