Good News: FG Review Progress Of NSIP For Immediate Implementation

In today's Latest Npower News, the Presidential panel meets to review progress on social investments programmes, engages stakeholders on youth unemployment benefit scheme.

The Special Presidential Panel on Social Investment Programmes has earlier today, met in Abuja to review progress on Direct Benefit Transfers following the introduction of alternate identity verification measures, including Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) and Voter's Cards, for beneficiaries on the National Social Register without a National Identity Number.

The Panel also engaged with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), National Directorate of Employment (NDE), and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to deliberate on the registration process for the Presidential Youth Unemployment Benefit Scheme, aiming for immediate implementation.

Recall that a few months ago, President Tinubu approved a program named Social Security Unemployment Programme, which aims to provide financial support to unemployed youths to alleviate economic difficulties.

At this period of heightened food prices, Mr. President has committed to doing all that can be done to assist in giving purchasing power to the poorest and in that line, he has committed and instructed that the social security unemployment programme be devised, particularly to cater for the youths, for the unemployed graduates, as well as the society as a whole.
