Npower News - FG Lift Restrictions On N-Power Contract Staff Account

In today's Latest Npower News, the Federal Government Has Lifted The Restriction On Bank Accounts Of Contract Staff Of N-Power Situation Room, according to Nasims.

Each of these Npower Contract staff is entitled to N80,000 monthly payments. Prior to the restriction, Npower Staff had received 8 months backlog payment (May to December) to the tune of N640,000

In late February 2024, a post-no-debit order was placed on bank accounts of the N-power contract workers, following investigation of the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu as well as interdicted Coordinator, National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Hajiya Halima Shehu by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

To clarify this, not that the Npower Beneficiaries are different from the Npower contract Staff.

Furthermore,, the Honourable Minister of the Ministry of Information and National Orientation, Idris stated that the Committee set up by the President to review the operational mechanism of the National Social Investment Programme has submitted its report to pave the way for the resumption of the programmes, which will be providing N25,000 Conditional Cash Transfers to 15 million poor and vulnerable households for three months among other interventions.
