NYSC Stakeholders Empower Over 3.5M Corps Members
In its quest to reduce the rate of unemployment among youths in the country, the National Youth Service Corps in collaboration with stakeholders have empowered over Three Million, Nine Hundred and Sixty-Four Thousand, Three Hundred and Twenty-five (3,964,325) Corps Members in different vocations, with skills, start-up capitals and other business incentives.
The Director General of National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Brigadier General YD Ahmed stated this today in his address at the opening ceremony of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Stakeholders’ Meeting with the theme; "Deepening the Impact of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development - A Panacea For Graduate Unemployment", held in Abuja.

He said NYSC would continue to support the on-going efforts of the Federal Government and other stakeholders to address the challenge of unemployment among the youths.
General Anmed added that the Scheme would strive to make more giant strides towards deepening the impact of SAED programme in line with his administration's policy thrust.
In this regard, we are determined, more than ever before, to make the SAED more functional and elevate its status as a veritable model for youth empowerment in Nigeria. We shall explore greater opportunities for expansion of our partnership engagements’, the DG said.
Speaking further, General Ahmed said the Scheme is determined to strengthen its existing collaborations with the stakeholders and also explore additional ones for maximum benefits.
The Director General appealed to the existing and prospective partners to support the Scheme's renewed efforts to take the implementation of the Skill Acquisition programme to the next level through technical and material support.
In her welcome remarks, the Director, Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme, Mrs Ngozi Nwatarali said the stakeholders meeting was to review programme performances and proffer workable solutions.
She added that NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme would sustain the creation of platforms that will facilitate access of young graduates to requisite skills and resources necessary for successful entrepreneurship as a means of enhancing national development.

Different stakeholders like Access Bank, Unity Bank, Wema Bank, Polaris Bank, Activate Success International, Kudimata, NNPC Foundation, British American Tobacco Foundation (BATNF), NITDA and Zeenab Foods attended the meeting.
