In October 2023, the N-Power management announced that it would begin the disbursement of the outstanding stipends to beneficiaries starting in November. However, despite this promise, payments have yet to be made, leaving beneficiaries in a state of uncertainty and anxiety.
"We are facing serious financial challenges due to the non-payment of our stipends," lamented one beneficiary, who wished to remain anonymous. "Many of us have dependents to cater for, and the delay in payments is making it extremely difficult to meet our basic needs.
Another beneficiary expressed concern about the impact of the delayed payments on their ability to pursue further education or vocational training. "I had planned to use my N-Power stipend to enroll in a skills acquisition program," she said. "But now, I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford it with the delay in payments."
The beneficiaries have urged the N-Power management to expedite the payment process and provide clear timelines for when they can expect to receive their outstanding stipends. They have also called for greater transparency and accountability in the management of the program's finances.

The N-Power program, which is designed to provide unemployed youth with skills and work experience, has been lauded for its role in reducing youth unemployment and promoting social inclusion. However, the recent delays in stipend payments have cast a shadow over the program's reputation and raised concerns about its sustainability.
The N-Power management has yet to respond to the beneficiaries' concerns. However, it is hoped that the authorities will take swift action to address the issue and ensure that the outstanding stipends are paid promptly. The well-being of thousands of N-Power beneficiaries depends on it.
