Firstly let's appreciate the Federal Government for establishing such an amazing empowerment program for the youths of Nigeria to shape the future of Nigeria's digital workforce.

In accordance with the subject matter, the first phase of training will focus on twelve (12) technical skills namely:

Software Development, UI/UX Design, Data Analysis and visualization, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Data Science, Animation, AI/Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Game Development, Cloud Computing, Dev Ops

According to management, For the first phase, 30,000 applicants will be selected for the training program. Here we are guessing that the likely applicants to be selected from the large pool of applicants will be individuals who are seen as qualified with the right tools to participate in the training.

These individuals are the type of applicants who have the capacity and the tools to go through the training. Tools like computers, internet connectivity, availability, and finance to equip themselves.

If you notice, during the account verification and questionnaire, applicants are asked whether they have the above-mentioned facilities. The training might be online training, so applicants who own a computer, and have access to internet facilities might have the added advantage of being selected in the first phase. This is not to say that other applicants who do not have these facilities will not be selected.

Recall that In support of the Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Initiative, the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy had a three-year partnership with IHS Nigeria to establish the 3MTT Learning Community, a nationwide learning initiative to empower Nigerians with critical digital skills.

This partnership will facilitate the setting up of learning communities in Nigeria’s 36 states and the FCT, and provide opportunities for the 3MTT participants to gather weekly, learn, collaborate, and build projects. The establishment of these learning communities will also help facilitate the strengthening of local innovation ecosystems across Nigeria.

Under this partnership, IHS Nigeria will provide financial support and industry expertise to the initiative and has committed to paying the salaries of the 37 dedicated learning community managers, as well as providing access to a learning platform that will support the 3MTT talent development efforts.
