How To Apply For SASSA Child Support CSG Top-Up grant

The CSG Top-Up grant is introduced to assist relatives caring for orphans to provide for their basic needs. The purpose is to keep them within their extended family environment without removing them from familiar households.

Benefits:

a. These children will receive their basic CSG of R480, plus an additional amount of R240, bringing the total to R720.

Qualifications:

To qualify, applicants must prove that a child is an orphan by providing:

1) certified copies of the death certificates of the child’s parents or

2) where the death certificate of one of the parents cannot be obtained by the applicant, a certified copy of the death certificate of one parent plus an affidavit by the applicant attesting to the unknown status of the child’s other parent.

How to apply:

Caregivers who are eligible can now apply for the CSG Top-Up grant at any of SASSA local office or Online at https://sassa.gov.za
