The Minister of Humanitarian affairs stated in her week in Review update that the youths are our future and deserve our undivided attention. Read details below:
HM Sadiya Umar Farouq said, as the year draws to a close it is time to take stock and project into the future. 2020 has been a remarkably interesting year and we are already looking forward to 2021 as a year of recovery and consolidation.
To help us recover, rehabilitate and rebuild the economy after the devastating effect of the Covid-19 pandemic we are fine-tuning plans and strategies #FMHDSD as well as at the level of the Departments and Agencies under our purview.

In the spirit of preparing, an action I appeared for a budget defence during the week before the House Committee on Poverty Alleviation, chaired by Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Balarabe Salame. We had fruitful deliberations.
I also appeared before the Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation & Social Welfare chaired by Sen. Lawal mau as well as before the Senate Committee on Special Duties chaired by Sen. Yusuf Yusuf. We shared our plans and gained useful insights.
I joined my cabinet colleagues at the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari during which we took stock and deliberated on pressing issues of state.

I received in audience Engineer Abdullahi Sule, Executive Governor of Nassarawa State. During his, visit we deliberated on areas of mutual concern and strategies for meeting the humanitarian needs in his state.
Earlier on Sunday, I attended the commemoration of the 2020 National Youth Day at the Villa. It was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports with the theme "INVEST IN THE YOUTH, SECURE OUR FUTURE" The youths are our future and deserve our undivided attention.
