Gold Mining - President Buhari Received Update From Zamfara State Governor

Yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari received a briefing from Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State on Solid Minerals and Mining Potentials in Zamfara. After which the President was presented with some gold bars and precious stones at the State House, Abuja.

It is recalled that President Buhari launched the Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Development Initiative (“PAGMI”) on the 16th of July 2020.

The PAGMI is a comprehensive artisanal and small-scale gold mining development programme, launched in 2019 to foster the formalization and integration of artisanal gold mining activities into Nigeria’s legal, economic, and institutional framework.
