KOGI NPOWER VOLUNTEERS HOLD PEACEFUL PROTEST, PLEADS WlTH FEDERAL GOVERNMENT NOT DISENGAGE THEM WITHOUT A PROPER EXIT
Npower beneficiaries in Kogi state have joined the nationwide peaceful protest by their colleagues across the nation calling on the federal government not to disengage them without concrete and adequate exit pIan.
The volunteers comprising of both batch A and B of the scheme who converge in Lokoja the state capital made a passionate plea on the federal government to look into the issue of absolving them into the civil service or put in p|ace an exit package in place for them that will see them become employers of labor while also adding value to the economic and social development of the nation through the creation of small and medium enterprises based on the skills they have acquired during the scheme.
The volunteers thanked and appreciated the efforts of the president at instituting the various youth empowerment schemes for youths in the country saying no government in recent times has been so passionate about the plight of the teeming unemployed youths across the country like the president Buhari led administration.
The volunteers comprising of the N-teach, N-agro and N-health arm of the social investment programme of the government lauds president Buhari's achievements especially youth empowerment in the last 5 years called on the federal government to as a matter of urgency look into their plight and not throw them back into the streets as such will be suicidal and injurious to their survival and existence.
