Sunrise daily a morning show on channels interviewed an NPower volunteer on the issue relating to the payment crisis some Npower beneficiaries are facing. According to Vivian the NPower Lagos State beneficiary, since three month now some Npower beneficiaries has not been paid stipends for March, April and May due to the change in the mode of payment.
She said affected beneficiaries have been complaining but no one is listening to them. Watch the interview in the video below:
The affected volunteers claimed that there are about 80,000 volunteers affected and are yet to get their March, April, and May stipends. However, Npower on the other hand has stated that there are less than 12,000 beneficiaries affected and has asked affected volunteers to send emails to their support email: [email protected] using unpaid stipend as the email subject.According to NPower, for those whose accounts are owed the March, April and May stipends, your accounts were flagged by the GIFMIS platform for several reasons. The Ministry is working hard to resolve this. It is no one's fault. We acknowledge the hardship the non-payment of stipends have caused for you and yours and ask that you hold on and be patient. From the beginning, we promised you that we will be honest. This is the truth.
