Npower Commence Training of Community Tax Liason Officers (VAIDS)


The Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun shared the information below on her Facebook page:

She said I'm happy to announce that we've commenced the training of candidates selected to be Community Tax Liason Officers under Npower.

Today I visited the first set of trainees, currently undergoing  undergoing the 5-day training at the Federal Treasury Academy, Orozo, FCT. This pilot training phase has 27 graduates, drawn from accounting, business studies, economics, mathematics and other relevant disciplines.

Our target is to hire 7,500 Community Tax Liaison Officers (CTLOs) in the months ahead. Registration is still ongoing on the NPower website; I encourage qualified graduates to apply.

In a report on NTA 9PM News, the Minister of Finance told journalist that the continues exercise is inline with government quest to boost meaningful engagement of unemployed youth.

According to the finance minister they are looking at the training materials to see how well it was received, how much have they learn and how good is their material so that when they now ride on  and try to get the 7500 they will be ready and ensure that anything in the material need to be corrected.

The applicant in VAIDS need relevant degree to qualify for this programme and when selected they are move to the training facilities for five day training exercise before been posted out. Trainees will be select on till the required number selected.

Data from National bureau of statistics reveals that the number of unemployed persons is close to more than 28,000,000 in the last quarter a scenario government need to change.

→ Currently Unemployed

→ Must be a graduate (Bachelors or Higher National Diploma)

→ Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps Programme

→ Aged 18-35

→ Selection Preference Disciplines: Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Economics, Law, Finance, Psychology and other allied disciplines in the social sciences.
